Dr. L.L. Shivastav , Assistant Professor in Botany, Department of Botany Nilkanthrao Shinde Science and Arts College, Bhadrawati, Dist.-Chandrapur, Maharashtra, IndiaAbstract
The seeds of the Ocimum sanctum Linn. were treated with different portions/centralizations of physical and synthetic - Sodium azide and ethylmethanesulphonate mutagens. Different acceptable variations were recorded in the M1 age. In practically every one of the medicines, the absolute recurrence of acceptable variations were found to increment in the portion/centralization of the mutagen. These acceptable variations were described based on the piece of the plant body impacted. In light of this, 15 different acceptable freaks were disconnected in M2 and M3 generations. They are known as enormous leaf, little leaf, unbranched, compacted expanding, three branches at every hub ,profused stretching, tall, drawf, semi-male clean, shaggy, determinate development, early blossoming, late blooming, high yielding, seed coat tone. Among them, significant freaks according to the perspective of reproducing are, high yielding and early blooming.
