THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPER NOUNS IN PHRASEOLOGY

Abstract

This paper explores the significance of proper nouns in phraseology, focusing on their unique role and impact on language usage and comprehension. Proper nouns, as specific names for people, places, organizations, and more, play a crucial role in enriching the semantic content of phrases and expressions. By examining various examples and linguistic theories, this study delves into how proper nouns contribute to the authenticity, specificity, and cultural richness of language. Additionally, the paper discusses the challenges and benefits of incorporating proper nouns in phraseology, emphasizing their ability to evoke vivid imagery, establish context, and enhance communication. Understanding the importance of proper nouns in phraseology can lead to a deeper appreciation of the nuances and intricacies of language use, highlighting the dynamic interplay between general and specific lexical elements in everyday discourse.
