Mirabdullayeva Zulfiya Olimjonovna , Tashkent State University Of Oriental Studies, Department Of Western Languages, Teacher Of English, UzbekistanAbstract
Nowadays learning and teaching foreign languages are very important process. However, it is necessary to admit the circumstance that foreign languages should be taught in a comparative way without causing damage to the mother language. Thus anecdotes are short stories that are used to entertain and amuse people. They often rely on humor to make people laugh or illustrate a point. English and Uzbek anecdotes share some similarities in terms of their use of humor, but there are also notable differences between the two languages.
