In this article, digital educational technologies provide very convenient tools for the effective organization of independent learning activities of students. Online platforms, interactive learning methods, personalized learning plans and other digital resources provide opportunities for students to strengthen their knowledge, learn new materials and conduct self-assessment.

Cooperation between colleges and universities (cooperative education) is important in ensuring the continuing education of young people. They need to be as less stressed as possible when moving from one learning environment to another. Only then will their passion for knowledge not diminish, their level of education will not decrease, and their efficiency will increase. Based on this, we are talking about the formation of creative abilities in students on the basis of cooperative education.

As a result of a detailed analysis of scientific sources, it was concluded that the terms "competence" and “communicative competence” are often interpreted similarly, have many commonalities, but the concept of "competence" has a broader meaning. In this dissertation research, the term "competence" is considered as a set of knowledge, skills, competences and personal motives aimed at solving standard and non-standard theoretical and practical problems within any activity. By competence we mean that a person has the appropriate powers; this is a systematic unit of the level of knowledge, experience, behavioral skills and ability to act that fully corresponds to the requirements of a certain professional activity.

The article highlights the pedagogical approaches and methods necessary for improving the physical, mental, and social health of students. It also examines the importance of education and upbringing in the process of shaping a healthy lifestyle, considering aspects such as practical exercises, motivation, social environment, psychological support, and medical check-ups.

The article emphasizes the importance of fostering critical thinking, civic responsibility, and a deeper understanding of democratic principles among students. Additionally, it explores the challenges and opportunities faced by educators in integrating civic education into the broader educational framework, and how these efforts contribute to building a more informed and engaged citizenry for Slovakia's future.
