This article examines the role of small business and private entrepreneurship in ensuring sustainable regional economic development. The study focuses on the Surkhandarya region as a case study, analyzing current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the development of small enterprises. Special attention is given to the role of digital technologies, innovation, financial support mechanisms, and infrastructure development in improving business efficiency. The research highlights the importance of integrated policy approaches and proposes recommendations for enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of small businesses in regional economies.
