Stylistic Possibilities of Language Units in Critical Articles

This article analyzes the stylistic possibilities of language units used in critical articles. The role of lexical, morphological, syntactic and phraseological units in the clear, effective and figurative expression of thought in critical texts is highlighted. The importance of stylistic means in expressing the author's evaluative attitude, subjective view and communicative purpose is also revealed. The article considers the features of the use of expressive lexis, metaphor, irony, repetition, rhetorical questioning, exclamations and other stylistic means characteristic of critical articles. The contextual and stylistic functions of language units are analyzed on the basis of examples, and their role in increasing the effectiveness of critical thought is determined.
