Abstract

Gamification, or the integration of game elements into the learning process, has emerged as an effective pedagogical tool in language education. This study examines the role of gamification in enhancing learners’ motivation and communicative competence. Through a qualitative and analytical review of literature and pedagogical practices, it was found that gamified activities such as role-playing, competitions, and digital games significantly increase learner engagement, reduce language anxiety, and improve speaking and listening skills. The findings highlight the importance of purposeful and systematic application of gamification to achieve meaningful learning outcomes. Gamification, therefore, serves as a strategic approach to enhance both motivation and communicative competence in language learning contexts.
