The Political and Cultural Role of Women in The Timurid Empire: Historical Facts and Cultural Heritage

During the Timurid Empire (1370–1507), the status of women was exceptionally high compared to other medieval Eastern societies. This article examines the political influence, cultural patronage, and social role of women in the Timurid dynasty based on authentic historical facts and examples. Women actively participated not only in family life but also in state governance, diplomatic relations, and architectural construction. Through the synthesis of Turko-Mongol traditions, Islamic values, and modern research, the article analyzes women’s contribution to the development of the empire.
