The image of women in world literature has undergone significant transformation across different historical periods and cultural traditions. Literary portrayals of women reflect social norms, moral values, and philosophical views of their time. This article examines the evolution of female characters in world literature, from ancient and medieval texts to modern and contemporary works. The study analyzes how women’s images have shifted from symbolic and passive roles to complex and independent personalities. Special attention is paid to the cultural and educational significance of female representation in literature and its influence on readers’ perception of gender roles.
